Is your child not talking yet?

Or cannot sit still? Runs away? Gets angry fast? You are not alone.

Our daughter Anwesha could not talk at 4. At 9, she is a talkative, smart kid.

A true story from one family. Not medical advice.

  1. Tell him about your child

What worries you, and what your child likes.

  2. Ask what can help

Ask if your child needs a check-up first, or a different doctor.

  3. Start with small goals

If you begin, agree on small goals. Check them together.

Anwesha's story · Age 4 → Age 9

She did not talk

Age 4
  • Anwesha did not say a single word.
  • She could not sit still.
  • She would run away from us.
  • Her twin sister was talking. We knew something was different.
  • We were very worried.

We went from place to place

Looking for help
  • We took her for therapy in Cuttack.
  • A doctors’ report said it was autism.
  • Then we went to Bhubaneswar.
  • We did not see much change.
  • But we kept looking.

Then we met Prabir Sir

Prabir Sir
  • He worked with Anwesha himself.
  • Week after week, with a lot of patience.
  • Slowly, small things started to change.

Today Anwesha

Age 9 · Today
  • talks
  • sits and learns
  • stays safe when we go out
  • does many things by herself

Some things are still hard

  • She can get angry very fast.
  • Making friends is hard for her.
  • She eats only a few foods.

We tell you this honestly. She is still growing, one small step at a time.

Talk to Prabir Sir
I am worried. What do I do first?

Talk to a child doctor. Ask for a check-up of how your child is growing. Write down what you see at home and take it with you.

Do I need a report to talk to Prabir Sir?

No. You can just tell him what you see at home.

Will my child learn to talk, like Anwesha did?

We cannot promise that. Every child is different. This is only our family’s story.

Can therapy cure autism?

No. Autism is not an illness. Help can make daily life easier: talking, learning, staying safe and doing things alone.
